This handmade ceramic mug was inspired by the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8th 2024. In addition to the eclipse, the Devils Comet will also be passing by Earth and should be visible.
The 'eclipsed' sun in the center was glazed in a mirror black, the sun rays bleeding out were done in gold luster, the exterior of the mug was glazed in matte black and the interior was glazed in a satin gloss black. The Devils comet is dark blue in the center with gold luster outlining the center and a reflective blackbused on its tail.
This mug was hand built with honey colored clay and meant to be an elegant reminder that this will be the last total eclipse over North America until 2045!
This mug is approximately 3 1/2” high x 3 1/2” in diameter. Hand washing is recommended as the gold luster can scratch over time. Also, do not put in the microwave as there is actual gold in the gold luster!
