A sacred, one-of-a-kind wall talisman honoring Inanna-Ishtar, the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, fertility, and sacred transformation. Crafted from deep chocolate-black clay, this piece features two mirrored cheetahs, hand-carved while the clay was leather-hard. They sit in reverent symmetry around a central symbolic glyph, echoing the goddess’s mythic presence and power. Each line was later brought to life with an earthy oatmeal glaze, accentuating the ancient feel of the design.

In Sumerian mythology, Inanna is often depicted accompanied by great cats—cheetahs, leopards, or lions—who pull her chariot or stand as fierce guardians of her throne. This talisman channels that archetype of divine sovereignty, primal instinct, and threshold descent—a powerful companion for those walking the seam between worlds.

Above the main slab hangs a trio of hand-formed beads:

A natural hag stone, long revered for protection and vision
A soft sand-toned bead
A dark clay bead stamped with the Burkhana rune (ᛒ), a symbol of fertility, birth, and creative becoming
Details:

Ceramic slab: ~4” tall x 3.5” wide
Total hanging length: ~11”
Made from richly pigmented black stoneware
Hand-carved imagery and oatmeal glaze finish
Durable natural cord with handmade beads and hag stone
Lightweight and suitable for wall display, altar work, or sacred space

Symbolic Notes:
This piece serves as a portal charm, invoking the mythic resonance of Inanna’s journey—her descent into the underworld, confrontation with death, and rebirth into power. The cheetahs act as sentinels. The central glyph, intuitive yet ancient in feel, may represent the womb, the gate, or the soul. Combined with the Berkana rune symbolizing birth, fertility and creation, the piece becomes an energetic vessel—ideal for those who work with goddess energy, lunar rites, or dream threshold practices.
